The purpose of the SW Design School L3C (LLC) DoDSkillBridge STEM Instructor Training is to detail how we teach our STEM Instructors the requirements needed to outline our strategy, objectives, curriculum, and methodology for deliver training, in support of, and as a deliverable for, K-12 Coders after-school program throughout the United States. The Training Plan (located in the enrollment portal) provides a roadmap of the activities required to support the development of training materials, coordination of training schedules, reservation of personnel and facilities, planning for training events, and other training-related tasks.
The key goals of this training plan are to prepare potential employees for teaching:
- Mobile App Design
- Introduction to Graphic
- Introduction to Web Design
- Introduction to 3D Game Design
- Hands-on STEM-based classroom activities
The scope of this training plan is to provide potential employees with the skills needed to navigate a challenging workplace. Children are very unpredictable and providing a STEM-based curriculum to 30 learners can seem chaotic. This training will teach room control; steps needed to ensure learners are meeting the curriculum milestones and patience—lots of patience! The ONLINE training will focus on the technical portion of the program with a LIVE instructor each day, while the last two weeks will focus on the hands-on skills needed to carry out the curriculum’s agenda.
Successful graduates will receive certificates in Windows, Word, Exel, PowerPoint, Intro to Mobile App Design (SCRATCH), Intro to Graphic Design, Intro to Web Design, Intro to 3D Game Design, and 2-weeks of Hands-on experience in 17 STEM Career Industries.
This course is delivered 90% ONLINE with an Instructor-Led curriculum. Commanders ARE allowed into the classroom at any time. The hands-on training Jobsite will be within 50 miles of the Veterans location.
